Many of the trident overprinted stamps have survived and are eagerly sought by collectors.  Most are relatively inexpensive.  The marks on the back of stamp were made either by an expertizer, dealer, owner or are unidentifiable.  The latter three does not gurantee you that the forgery is genuine.  Many forgeries exist.

Check out the Val Zabijaka auction (Auction page) where many tridents are offered.  In the coming weeks we will publish an article showing these marks.

I have been a collector of Ukrainian stamps for 30 years and one thing that I have not seen whether in person or in photograph are the actual stamps that created either the Trident or the individuals who had signature stamps that marked the rear of the stamps.

I can understand that the stamps made to produce the tridents may have been either destroyed or lost through time but some must have survived? The same with the signature stamps. So I was wondering if there are existing photos of these stamps that made the collecting of of the 1918 circa possible.  Did any of Dr.Scheicter's or Bulat's signature stamps survive or retained by relatives ??

If someone has information it would be greatly appreciated. Not only for personal curiosity but Historical as well.

Cheers

Michael
