In the aftermath of the recent state visit to Australia by Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko, the Ukrainian Collectibles Society (UCS) on Saturday, December 20, 2014 will release its first official postcard which underlines Australia's moral and financial support for Ukraine. The card quotes Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, Julie Bishop. Cards are available for sale through normal local and internet channels by emailing your intended order to bandura@ozemail.com.au Once your email is received you will be sent an order form and payment instructions. The cost per card is AU $2.00 with all proceeds going to humanitarian and medical NGOs in Ukraine that support the ongoing struggle against Russian-backed terrorists.

The Ukrainian Collectibles Society (UCS) of Australia announced the next stamp in the Australian-Ukrainian Heritage personalized stamp and envelope series.   The stamp will be issued April 12, 2014.  Last day to order is March 31, 2014.

During 2011-2012 the Ukrainian Scouting Organisation Plast of Australia is commemorating the centenary of its formation in 1911-1912. The Supreme Plast Council “Holovna Plastova Bulava (HPB)” has released both an official centenary logo (for camp badges) and an official postage stamp design that will be released by many of the international Plast Federal Executives around the world.

The Plast Federal Executive (KPS) in Australia is releasing an Australian commemorative Personalised Stamp and first day of issue envelope (FDC) for the International Centenary Jamboree (UMPZ) to be held in Canberra, ACT, from 26 December 2011 to 3 January 2012.

A first day cover (FDC) with the stamp will be cancelled at the Lidcombe NSW post office on 24 August 2011 and the stamp and FDC will be officially released at the 3rd National Ukrainian Collectibles Exhibition UCSPEX‐2011 at 11:00 am on Saturday 27 August 2011. The “Ukrainian Heritage” series of stamps and covers is designed to provide a tangible philatelic record of the history of Ukrainian organisations established and operating in Australia since 1948, recognising and commemorating their status and respective unique contributions to Australia’s Ukrainian and wider communities.  These achievements are to be promoted both within Australian and internationally.  The project is expected to run over 3‐4 years and will promote and acknowledge Ukrainian organisations from all states and territories of Australia.

We have been advised of the recent passing of long-time philatelist and good friend to the Ukrainian Collectibles Society in Adelaide – Mr Petro Kravchenko of Sydney, Australia. Please read the tribute page that provides a synopsis of the late Peter’s rich life.

"In my humble opinion his crowning philatelic achievement was the facilitation of the issuance of the postage stamp commemorating the 50th Anniversary of Ukrainian Settlement in Australia in 1998," said George Fedyk,  Secretary/Treasurer Ukrainian Collectibles Society, Adelaide, Australia. 

This stamp was issued on December 20,1998 and appears as stamp number 231 in the current Divari Catalogue (1918-2008).  This postage stamp gave Australia’s Ukrainian community immense pride.  It showed the dispora that Ukrainians in Australia, even though small in numbers, are vibrant, active and supportive of their own and their parent’s homeland and that they cherished their unique heritage.

This year the Ukrainians of Australia celebrated their 60th Anniversary of Ukrainian Settlement in Australia. The XIII National Ukrainian Festival in Melbourne was held on the long weekend of 5-7 June 2009 and it was a real cultural extravaganza.

The XVth Triennial Congress of the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organizations began with the launch of an exhibition of collectibles by members of the Ukrainian Collectibles Society in Australia (UCS) (Toвариствo Українських Koлекціонерів – ТУK).  Based in Adelaide, UCS is a chapter of the Ukrainian Philatelic and Numismatic Society.

Orders can only be placed through the UCS. Please note that Australia Post only issues Personalised Stamps in "peel and stick" format, not gummed. The personalised label in fact forms part of the stamp giving a single unit. There will be two denominations 55 cent for domestic mail and $2.05 for international mail. Each denomination has a different base stamp design. A very limited number of international stamps will be made available. All prices are in Australian currency and international orders will be converted on the day of receipt of an order. The commemorative envelope is C6 size (160 mm x 115 mm) and in full colour.
